The Platform
INTO RWANDA exists because Rwanda’s institutional story was not being told in the language and register that the international audience following it most closely actually needed. Diplomats, foreign investors, multilateral agencies, and diaspora professionals were reading Rwanda through wire services and regional outlets that treated it as one story among many. No outlet was doing what Rwanda’s growing global footprint deserved.
INTO RWANDA was built to fill that gap not as a government mouthpiece, not as a lifestyle publication, but as a rigorous, independent, English-language platform reporting Rwanda for the world’s institutional readership. Every story published here is held to one test: would a diplomat, an investment analyst, or a senior development professional find it credible, specific, and worth their time?
That standard has not changed since the platform launched in 2019.

The Founder
Daniel Havugarurema

Daniel Havugarurema is a Rwandan media strategist and journalist whose career spans broadcast, digital publishing, and institutional communications across some of Rwanda’s most widely followed media organisations. He founded INTO RWANDA in 2019, bringing to it a professional record built at the centre of Rwanda’s media industry.
Before founding INTO RWANDA, he served as Brand and Media Strategist and Acting Editor at 3D TV Rwanda, where he also worked as an on-air presenter, a role he held alongside presenting positions at The Choice Live, Isibo TV, Isibo Radio, Flash FM, and MIE Empire, a digital media network with an audience exceeding one million subscribers. His editorial background includes news writing and content creation at Igihe.com, one of Rwanda’s most-read digital news platforms, and social media strategy and administration at Inyarwanda.com, a platform with a combined following of more than two million across its channels.
That breadth broadcast presence, digital editorial discipline, and large-scale audience management is the foundation INTO RWANDA was built on. The platform is not an experiment. It is the deliberate product of a career spent inside Rwanda’s media ecosystem, turned outward to serve the international institutional audience that ecosystem had never directly addressed.
