A total of 489 trainees drawn from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Rwanda National Police (RNP), and Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) have completed an intensive four-and-a-half-month military career training at the RDF Combat Training Centre in Gabiro.
The graduates, comprising senior officers, junior officers, and other ranks, have been equipped with the skills and knowledge required to take on key leadership roles, including company commanders, platoon commanders, company sergeant majors, and platoon sergeants.
According to the Rwanda Defense Forces, INTO RWANDA has learned that presiding over the graduation ceremony, the Chief of Defence Staff, General MK Mubarakh, congratulated the trainees for their resilience, discipline, and commitment throughout the demanding program. He underscored the importance of such courses in building a professional and capable security force.
“These trainings are fundamental in shaping competent military leaders who can effectively respond to today’s dynamic and complex security challenges,” Gen Mubarakh said.
He praised the high standards of discipline exhibited during the training period and emphasized that modern security operations require more than theoretical knowledge. He urged the graduates to translate their training into practical action in their respective units and areas of deployment.
“The value of this training lies in its application. What you have learned here must guide your decisions and actions in real operational environments,” he added.
The comprehensive program focused on strengthening military expertise in tactical operations, leadership, strategic thinking, and management. It reflects Rwanda’s continued commitment to professionalizing its security institutions and enhancing their readiness to address both current and emerging threats.
The successful completion of the courses marks another milestone in the country’s broader efforts to build a highly skilled, disciplined, and adaptable security force capable of contributing to national stability and regional peacekeeping missions.
