RSSB Tigers BBC have traveled to South Africa to take part in the upcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2026 Kalahari Conference games.
The Rwandan side will represent the country in the continental competition after being selected to replace APR BBC, which withdrew from the tournament.
The Kalahari Conference is scheduled to take place in Pretoria, South Africa, from March 27 to April 5, 2026, where six teams will compete for qualification to the playoffs.
RSSB Tigers head into the competition with confidence following strong domestic performances, including winning the Rwanda Basketball Cup in 2025 and the Super Cup in 2026.
The team, coached by Henry Mwinuka, is expected to face tough competition from other African clubs in their group as they aim to secure a place in the finals.
According to the BAL format, the top-performing teams from both the Kalahari and Sahara Conferences will advance to the playoffs, which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from May 22 to May 31, 2026.
This marks a significant moment for RSSB Tigers, as they represent Rwanda on the continental stage for the first time in the BAL competition.
Among 12 players going to Pretoria with RSSB Tigers, six were recruited from APR BBC, namely Axel Mpoyo, Ntore Habimana, Ndizeye Dieudonne, Mangok Mathiang, Teafale Leonard Jr and Graig Leonard Randle.
