
A Congolese man with two names and a pocket full of promises has turned Rwanda’s social media scene into his personal stage and people keep inviting him back.
He goes by two names depending on where you find him, and plenty of nicknames like ATM, World Remit, Western Union, Remitly, Banque Mondiale, Mukuru wa Bose and many more praising him for his money.
On Instagram he is Prophète Joshua Le Voyant ,the Seer. At Kigali’s concerts and celebrity weddings, he is simply Prophet Joshua.
His real name, Heradi Sefu Josué, is almost beside the point. What matters, in the world he has built for himself, is the spectacle, and in Rwanda’s growing influencer economy, spectacle is currency.
The formula is not complicated. Prophet Joshua shows up at a high-profile event, positions himself near the cameras, and opens his wallet.
At the December 2023 wedding of popular Rwandan artist The Ben, he showered over 1.5 million Rwandan francs on the dance floor , with the moment filmed and circulated widely online.
He explained to local media that in Congo, money is how you celebrate someone you respect. Rwanda’s social media audience watched, shared, and made him famous overnight.
Currently, Prophete Joshua is currently giving to any influencer who is willing to make a video saying his name, and admitting that he has money.
Many young Rwandan influencers have made and are still making hundreds of videos praising the tycoon for his generous offers amid a time when youth say are broke.
Rwanda’s digital content space is young and moving fast. Hundreds of creators are building audiences on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, competing for brand deals, event invitations, and viral moments. Into that ecosystem walked a man who understood one thing clearly: in the attention economy, the person holding money at the right moment owns the room, and the algorithm rewards the room, not the truth.
Prophet Joshua is building a brand one viral video at a time, using other people’s platforms and Rwanda’s celebrity circuit as his distribution network.
